Who says a Cross Country Run Can’t be Fun

The GHS Cross Country team took a little time to enjoy “The View” while practicing this week.  The team competed in the Grandview Parks and Rec’s July Park Scavenger Hunt. That means they visited at least three Grandview parks, took selfies and used the #gvpr hashtag on social media.

Not only did they get a free t-shirt for the cause, but they picked and ate blackberries at the Bus Barn, took pictures with the Dodo Bird at Meadowmere Park, played Frisbee at the Tails to Trails Dog Park, and more.

Head Cross Country Coach Dana Bedwell says being a part of the team is more than just running and sweating from point A to point B.

“There are so many fun things you can do in between the points while getting prepared to race a 5k,”
said Bedwell.

Students are encouraged to sign up and join the team. To learn more you can direct message Coach Bedwell on Twitter @DanaBedwell or email her at Dana.Bedwell@grandviewc4.net.
