Grandview C-4 fifth graders showcased their talents in the Conn West kitchen this week. A student from each elementary school in the district submitted their recipes to be judged for the “Healthy Afterschool Snacks” competition put on by Sodexo. The theme is aimed at getting kids interested in healthy food options. There were categories that included health conscious foods, and simple kid friendly fun foods.
A Sodexo representative says the objective of the event is not only to get kids thinking about healthy foods, but to also encourage interest in culinary art.
Congratulations to Martin City student, Shiloh Klubek who won the competition. Klubek will now be entered into regional cooking competition, where she will be matched up with students in other districts in the area.
