Wednesday was officially “Chief’s Day” in the City of Grandview especially at The View. Fifty our GC-4 elementary school students welcomed Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce as part of the NFL Play 60 After-School Kickoff program. NFL Play 60 focuses on the health and wellness of young fans by encouraging them to be active for at least 60 minutes a day.
Students had a chance to dig into Kelce’s mind with questions about being in shape. They also had a chance to learn a thing or two when it comes to staying active. Students did drills and that included some weight lifting and hula hooping during some hands on one on one time with Kelce. The event was hosted by Grandview Parks and Rec who entered in and won the after school NFL Play 60 contest. NFL Play 60 partnered with the local Time Warner Cable affiliate to award Grandview Parks and Rec with a $7500 health and wellness grant and PE equipment.
