Martin City Big Lots Grand Opening June 12, 2015 |
Big Lots celebrated its new Martin City store with a ribbon
cutting ceremony at its grand opening Friday. GC-4 Superintendent Ralph Teran
did the honors of cutting the ribbon for the cause. The neighborhood store presented $2,000 checks
to both Belvidere Elementary School and Martin City K-8 School. Principal Liz
Means of Belvidere and Assistant Principal Jacqueline Spencer and Marci Simon of
Martin City accepted the checks on behalf of the school.
"The students of Martin City will greatly benefit from
this generous donation which will ensure supplies will be available in their
classes," said Martin City Principal Johnny Dodge.
The schools were chosen based on needs and because they are
neighborhood schools to the store.
"Belvidere Elementary is overjoyed for the very
generous donation by Big Lots! Our
Scholar Students will definitely benefit from the school supplies that the
donation will provide. We deeply
appreciate the generosity of Big Lots and their investment into our Scholar
Students and our school,” said Means.
Thank you Big Lots and welcome to the GC-4 community!!
