Fifth graders at Butcher Greene got their hands dirty for a
good cause. Students built six raised garden beds. Each one of the gardens is designated for
each of the elementary school grade levels.
Students from every grade level were then able to plant in their
gardens. Students are planning for a May
harvest. Their effort was in partnership with Community Gardens.
The planting didn’t stop there; fourth graders at the school
and parent volunteers partnered with Giving Grove and planted an orchard. It includes 11 fruit trees, raspberry bushes
and an insect garden.
