Grandview Middle School Ribbon Cutting Celebrates New Gymnasium on 8.13.14

Students have been waiting all summer to see what their brand new gymnasium would look like.  This week the wait was over.  Wednesday night Grandview C-4 School District leaders and community members celebrated the completion of the remodeled gym with a ribbon cutting at Grandview Middle School.

“The gym renovation is exciting! It brings our facilities to the same level or higher to those schools around us,” said Jennifer Price, GMS Principal.

You can just smell the fresh wood on the floor of the new facility.  Price says it’s been a long time coming for students.  The old gym had been in place since 1967.  The gymnasium’s new look includes ceiling lights, painted walls, and a brand new wooden floor.

“We thank the Grandview community for its support of the bond issues which made the construction possible.  It shows our students we value them,” said Price.

Gym class won’t be the same for GMS students. They received a warm welcome in their brand new gym Thursday as they returned for the first day of school.
