Grandview Education Foundation Delivers Teacher Grants

Recipients of this year’s GEF teacher grants could hear the clapping coming down the hall.  Members of GEF delivered each grant one by one to GC-4 staff in a ‘Publishers Clearing House’ kind of way.  Their “congratulations” balloons and letters brought smiles, even some tears to teachers.  Each grant recipient had to apply for the grants and explain what type of program the funds will be used for. Seven grants total were awarded out of 16 submissions.  GEF dished out more than $5600 for programs to benefit GC-4 students.

Here’s a list of the 2015-2016 grant award winners:
Karla Harris, Central Office: $250 (Martin City Lady Leaders)
Clark Vance, GHS: $250 (Project Lead the Way Civil Engineering)
Thomas Robins, Belvidere: $194.84 (Stop Bullies Book Club)
Robin Reich, GHS:$400 (Book Club)
Carrie McDonald, Meadowmere $571.75 (STEM Centers in the Library Media Center)
Daniel Huffman, Martin City: 960 (Science 4 US)
DeeAnn Moore, GMS and Cynthia Godwin, GMS: $3000 (GMS Makerspace)
