Students from GHS attended the Women in Design--Kansas City Day of Shadowing. WiD--KC is a part of the American Institute of Architects Kansas City organization. Twenty of the high school’s female students went to three separate engineering firms in the area. They had a chance to shadow women engineers there and experience some hands on learning while networking with role models in the field. The girls were able to take tours around the office and view project renderings, documents that outlined project costs and important specifics. They even had a chance to work together on a little design of their own. Here are photos from HMN Architects of the event.
