Butcher-Greene Elementary Students Give More than 500 Potato Boxes to GAP

Students at Butcher Greene Elementary school participated in a food drive for the Grandview Assistance Program, GAP, in December as part of Project ECC (Enhancing Community Collaborations) led by UMKC.  Teachers Michelle Mosiman, Judy Robben, Cathy Christiansen and Tammy Anderson participated in the program to explore community collaborations and service learning projects that connected with curriculum.

The teachers challenged each classroom to donate a minimum of 20 boxes of potatoes to give to GAP. Surprisingly, the students exceeded that goal and one class actually donated 545 boxes!  Way to go Butcher Greene!
