GHS Boys Track and Field Take Home Fifth State Title

State Titles, Broken Records, Bulldog Track and Field at it again

What a weekend, what a season for the Grandview High School boys and girls track and field teams!!  The boys’ team took home its fifth, yes fifth state title in a row.  The girls took fourth place overall.  But the celebration doesn’t end there. The teams ended up with six state champions!!

Anglerne Annelus won in two events.  She even set two state records in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.  She broke KC Central High School’s, Muna Lee’s record that was set in 1999.  Annelus set the new records at 11.64 in the 100-meter dash and 23.47 in the 200-meter dash.  Annelus will be heading to UCLA next year to continue her success on the track.  She was also part of the girl’s winning 4x200 meter relay that included Amber Henderson, Sydnee Mitchell, and Irea Brown.

Maliek Kendall, also won two events they include the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.  Cirr Davis took home the gold in the Triple Jump

"To have one state champion on our teams is wonderful, but to have our teams win six events, now that is amazing! These athletes are the best in the state of Missouri.  These are the student-athletes that every coach dreams of, they work hard in the classroom and on the track, and they volunteer in their community as well. Our coaching staff is extremely proud of these young men and women,” said Dana Bedwell, Head Girls Track Coach.

We’d also like to recognize the rest of the team’s All-State athletes, they include:
